Steve is an experienced audit manager and also specialises in IT audit, IT governance and IT risk management, having spent more than 35 years at practitioner and 20 years at manager / director level. He has worked in a variety of sectors including local government, central government, NHS, Housing & Education, and in the non-public sector for financial institutions and commercial and industrial organisations. He has also worked on international projects in Europe and South Africa.

Steve set up his own business in June 2006. Working both independently and with a number of carefully chosen associates, he personally provides a range of internal audit services including IT audit / IT security, IT audit management and ISO 27001 (information security management) accreditation. As a qualified and specialist IT Auditor, Steve is sought out by large and complex organisations such as NHS Trusts to review their IT security arrangements.

Steve was also a visiting lecturer at Birmingham City University on their Business Information Systems Audit Programme and, through the University, was selected as part of the team to write the latest study texts for the Institute of Internal Auditor’s new IT Auditing Certificate qualification.
